With Nature once a month for our Free Family Beach Clean & Play sessions at Reculver, fully funded by marine conservation charity Sea Changers (Registered Charity No. 1142119).
These fun and educational family sessions help care for our local coastline while inspiring positive action for our marine environment. Together, we'll clean the beach and discover first-hand the scale of litter pollution affecting our shores. Through hands-on participation, families can learn about the impact of human activity on marine ecosystems and explore practical ways to help protect them.
Participants will also learn about the dangers that discarded fishing gear and other litter pose to marine wildlife, including what to do if they encounter litter or hazardous items on the beach.
During the Beach Play element of each session, we'll explore Reculver's rock pools, discovering and identifying local marine species while learning about the challenges facing our coastal habitats. Families will have opportunities to discuss the species they identify and learn about invasive species, their effects on native wildlife, and the importance of protecting biodiversity.
Beach Play encourages children and adults alike to experience the beach in new and exciting ways, helping to build a deeper connection with the natural environment and develop an Ocean Connection. Activities change each month and may include beach-themed crafts, nature-based games, wildlife exploration, and other hands-on coastal experiences.
Come along, make a difference, and enjoy a fun day of learning, exploring, and caring for our coastline together. You can reserve a space at withnature.oakline.app
